Kurdish youth in civil disobedience action in the CPT

Kurdish youth staged a civil disobedience action in the CPT building and called for urgent action against the isolation of Abdullah Öcalan.

Dozens of Kurdish youth gathered outside the building in Strasbourg of the Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) which maintains its silence on the hunger strikes launched by hundreds of Kurds at the risk of their lives demanding an end to the aggravated isolation regime imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

More than 40 young demonstrators overcame the barriers outside the CPT office and entered the building, chanting “CPT to İmralı”, “Long Live Leader Öcalan” and “No Life Without the Leader” as they strongly condemned the silence of the CPT.

French police harsly intervened the protest and took all demonstrators into custody.
