Kurdish youth in Münster start new commune

Kurdistani youth in Münster, Germany declared a new commune named Martyr Atakan Mahir Youth Commune and called for organizing against the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

The Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger (Revolutionary Youth's Movement) declared in a founding congress on October 21 in Bergish Gladbach, Germany had caused quite the stir among Kurdish youth. Kurdistan youth and allies in Münster declared the Martyr Atakan Mahir Youth Commune under the Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger umbrella.

Kurdistan youth came together in Münster and said they formed the commune under the motto, “Rise up against fascism, free Reber Apo”. The process was analyzed in the meeting where the youth pointed out the torture of isolation imposed upon the Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan and all the youth and the peoples in his person. The attacks intensified against Kobanê and Girê Spî were condemned in the speeches in the meeting and the youth said Kurdistan youth should organize under Öcalan’s philosophy to stand against these attacks.

“WE WILL ORGANIZE AND BREAK THE ISOLATION”

Martyr Atakan Mahir Youth Commune Member Jinda Riha said:

“It is time for all Kurdish youth to take responsibility. We must organize with the philosophy of our Leader and rise up against this torture of isolation and genocidal attacks of the Turkish state. One of the most important parts of the struggle against the isolation is organization. Kurdistan youth in particular need to understand Leader Apo further and organize based on his paradigm. The isolation imposed upon our Leader is not only physical, but also ideological. The flags and our slogan Bijî Serok Apo being banned in Germany shows us the extent of this isolation. We will never accept this isolation. All Kurdistan youth understanding Reber Apo’s ideology and organizing on that foundation is the greatest response against the isolation. We are calling on all Kurdistan youth to form their communes and assemblies wherever they are, like us, rise up against fascism and join the struggle to free our Leader.”
