Kurdish youth movement continues protests for Öcalan

In Germany, France and Switzerland, the youth movement has taken to the streets for the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan. The actions took place in the context of the campaign "Stop fascism, isolation and occupation; Together for uprising".

Activists of the Kurdish youth organizations TEKO-JIN and TCŞ and the student federations JXK/YXK have continued their action for the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan.

At Mannheim main station, the JXK and TCŞ opened a stand with books by Abdullah Öcalan and other information material and demanded an end to the isolation of the Kurdish leader. The passers-by showed interest in the information materials displayed on the stand as activists talked about the situation of Öcalan and the growing fascism in Turkey. The organizers emphasized that only the liberation of Öcalan can lead to the end of Turkish fascism, freedom for the Kurdish people and democratization in the Middle East.

At the Rotebühlplatz Square in Stuttgart, the Kurdish youth movement held a demonstration in which the participants put on masks with the likeness of Öcalan over their faces and distributed leaflets on the topic. In addition, multilingual signs with the inscription "Freedom for Öcalan" were attached to balloons and let fly.

In Villiers-le-Bel near Paris, activists of the youth movement called for an action in front of the station and distributed leaflets. Another action by the youth also took place in Mantes la Jolie.

In Switzerland, Kurdish youths took to the streets in Solothurn and Zurich as part of the campaign "Stop fascism, isolation and occupation; Together for uprising".
