Kurdistan Alliance calls on people to oppose law of execution

The Kurdistan Alliance Work called on everyone to widen the struggle using all means and possibilities.

The Kurdistan Alliance Work issued a written statement on the draft law of execution, which is currently under discussion in Parliament and excludes political prisoners.

The statement emphasised that the law cannot be accepted as it is proposed. "Everyone, people, intellectuals, those who are currently discussing the draft law, who advocate the sense of justice and equality in society, oppose the deepening of social polarization that this law would actually bring about."

The statement said: "Let's raise our struggle by using every mean and opportunity to oppose this law" which will exclude politicians, elected representatives, lawyers, students, writers, journalists, children.

The statement added: "This law as designed will harm social peace. Thinking differently, being opposed to those in power cannot be the reason for being declared guilty. No one can be accused and punished for their ideas, thoughts and political activities. In its current form, the Penal Execution Law is far from legal, human, moral norms."
