"Kurdistan and Rojava Revolution" panel at University of Lausanne

A panel titled "Kurdistan and Rojava Revolution" was organized by student groups at the University of Lausanne on the 100th anniversary of the Treaty of Lausanne.

The students of the University of Lausanne organized a panel to discuss Kurdistan, the Rojava Revolution and the Treaty of Lausanne.

Kurdish politician Sevgi Koyuncu, who attended the panel titled "Kurdistan and Rojava Revolution", said: "Kurds and peoples were not present in Lausanne, there were bargains in Lausanne to protect the interests of sovereign states." She said that Lausanne was the beginning of a series of massacres for the Kurds.

Kurdish politician Hayrettin Öztekin, talked about the massacres from 1923 to the present. He said that the Kurds have been fighting for the rights they lost in Lausanne for 100 years, and added: "The starting point of the systematic attacks and massacres experienced today from the Şêx Said rebellion is Lausanne. The consequences of this agreement for the Kurdish people were very severe. The Kurds were not even recognized as a minority."

Lausanne University academic Dinah Gross drew attention to the struggle carried out by the Kurdish people and explained that the Rojava system brought around an important mentality transformation in the darkness of the Middle East.
