Kurdistan Solidarity Committee expresses support for the PKK

Condemning the latest wave of Turkish invasion attacks on southern Kurdistan and the KDP’s support, members of the Kurdistan Solidarity Committee expressed their support for guerrilla forces.

Friends of the Kurdish people continue expressing their reaction against the invasion operation launched by the Turkish state against the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq) with the active support of the ruling party, KDP, on April 17, 2022.

Kurdistan Solidarity Committee Chairman, Benny Gustafsson, stated that the main objective of Turkey’s AKP-MHP government was to eliminate the PKK that protects and defends the Kurdish people.

Gustafsson pointed out that the PKK did not only advocate for the unity of the Kurdish people and saved them from genocide, but also fought for the democratization of the region, protection of ecology and freedom of women. He called for the Turkish state to leave South Kurdistan and Rojava.

Kurdistan Solidarity Committee board member Per Olov Nordin noted that at a time when Russia launched aggression on Ukraine, Turkey launched a similar war against the Kurdish people in South Kurdistan in violation of international law.

According to Nordin, it is important that Turkey’s NATO membership should be opposed due to its crimes against humanity. He called on all circles to join the protest actions against the genocidal war of the Turkish state.
