Kurds and activists protest against international conspiracy in Cyprus

Protests continue on the anniversary of the international conspiracy against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan which led to his abduction from Kenya to Turkey on February 15, 1999.

A protest action was held in Limassol, Cyprus on the 22nd anniversary of the capture of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan in an international conspiracy.

Answering the call of the Cyprus Kurdish People's Assembly, Kurds and pro-Kurdish activists came together in Limassol on Monday. During the protest action activists chanted "Biji Serok Apo", "Terrorist Erdogan, terrorist Turkey," "Turkish army get out of Kurdistan" and displayed pictures of Kurdish Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Kurdish politician Lezgin Serhat made a speech at the action, which was also attended by hunger strikers against the isolation of Öcalan and fascism.

Serhat pointed to the campaign launched against the isolation policies of the fascist and occupying Turkish state against Abdullah Öcalan, saying, “The captivity of Leader Apo (Öcalan) is the captivity of the Kurdish people and the peoples of the Middle East. This captivity will be removed, and Kurdistan and the Middle East will be liberated. The glorious resistance waged against the vile attacks of the invading Turkish state on Gare is developing against this captivity. However, we will resist these invaders who bombed the prison camp. Freedom will prevail.”
