Kurds discuss participation to Geneve II Conference

Nine Kurdish parties in Rojava have gathered in the city of Hesekê to discuss the Kurdish participation in the Geneva II Conference and the recent developments in west Kurdistan.

During the meeting which took place upon the attempts of the Democratic Union Party of Syrian Kurds, nine Kurdish parties addressed the demands and the conditions Kurds will convey to the Geneva Conference, and proposals for the solution of the current problems in Rojava.

The Kurdish parties whose representatives joined the meeting are the Democratic Union Party (PYD), Democratic Union Party of Syrian Kurds, Kurdish Democratic Party of Syria, Freedom Party of Syrian Kurds, Syrian Democratic Party for Equality, Syrian Kurdish Union Party, Syrian Democratic Union Party and the Progressive Democracy Party of Syrian Kurds.

Representatives of the parties affiliated to the ENKS (Syrian Kurdish National Council) have stated during the meeting that they would be participating the Geneva 2 Conference together with the Syrian Coalition.

PYD Party Assembly member Şêxmûs Ehmed on the other hand defended that the Syrian Coalition has displayed no attitude siding with a solution to the Kurdish question, and suggested that Kurds should therefore participate the conference as a third party.

Ebdilceyêd Sebrî, member of the assembly of the Democratic Party of Syrian Kurds, stated that their party has left the ENKS which -he said- served the interests of external powers and has met with UN Syrian representative Brahimi outside the knowledge of the Kurdish Supreme Council.

Silêman Oso, member of the politburo of the Democratic Union Party of Syrian Kurds, got reactions from the participants due to his comments on the PYD and the YPG (People's Defense Units).
