The Freedom for Öcalan Vigil reached week 390. The action is being carried out in Strasbourg, and this week has been taken over by Kurdish activists from Drancy.

A new group of Kurdish activists, this time from Drancy, has taken over the Freedom for Öcalan Vigil on week 390.

The group is made up of Süleyman Kulen, Kadir Nefes and Yusuf Alagöz who took over the Vigil from a group from Strasbourg.

The activists underlined that despite the cold and rainy weather, the Kurdish people would not give up the action for the freedom of their leadership.

In their statement the activists said: "As Drancy group, we call on the CPT, the ECtHR and the European Council to take on their responsibility immediately."

Launched on 25 June 2012 in front of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, the Freedom for Öcalan Vigil will continue until Öcalan is liberated.

The action has been going on for almost 8 years, and continues with new groups of activists taking it over every week.
