Dozens of Kurds attended an event held at Drancy DTM to mark 21-28 March, the Heroes Week. The event begun with a minute's silence was held for all martyrs of the revolution in the person of Mazlum Doğan.
In a statement, the Drancy Democratic Kurdish community center co-presidency sai21-28 March, the Hero Week: “The people of Kurdistan welcome the week between 21and 28, the Heroes Week. Mazlum Doğan, one of the leading figures of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement, started a new process with his action on 21 March, while the legendary Commander Mahsum Korkmaz (Egîd), who changed the shape of the struggle, fell as a martyr on 28 March. These two dates are very important, like many others in the history of the freedom struggle. For this reason, at the PKK's 3rd Congress (1986), it was decided to celebrate 21-28 March as Heroes Week. For this reason, we repeat once again that we bow respectfully in front of the memories of our martyrs in the person of Mazlum Doğan and Mahsum Korkmaz, and we promise that we will follow in the footsteps of our martyrs."
