Kurds in Switzerland to take to the streets for Maxmur

The Swiss Democratic Kurdish Council (CDK-S) and the Swiss Kurdish Women's Union (YJK-S) called on people to take to the streets to protest the attacks on the Maxmur refugee camp.

Kurds living in Switzerland will take to the streets in many cities to protest the blockade of the Maxmur refugee camp by the Iraqi army.

The Swiss Democratic Kurdish Council (CDK-S) and the Swiss Kurdish Women's Union (YJK-S) called on the Kurdish people's assemblies and pro-Kurdish allies to join the protests massively.

“The Iraqi army forces surrounded the camp by barbed wire and want to evacuate it,” said a statement by the Kurdish institutions, remarking that the people of Maxmur have been resisting the Iraqi army blockade for the last three days. They said: “Our people should massively protest the blockade.”
