Kurds protest for Öcalan's freedom in Zurich, Mannheim and Hanover

ZURICH

Beritan Women's Assembly led the demonstration held in front of the Zurich Parliament, Switzerland to demand an immediate end to the isolation of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Demonstrators said Öcalan's denial of communication and meeting was unacceptable, and vowed to continue their protests until the Kurdish leader attains his freedom.

MANNHEIM

Another demonstration for Öcalan's freedom was held in Mannheim, Germany where demonstrators staged a march from the Abendakademie to Alte Feuerwache.

The demonstration organized by Ronahi Berivan Women's Assembly was also joined by constituents of the Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK) and Union of Democratic Forces (DGB).

A statement by Germany Democratic Kurdish Society Center (NAV-DEM) called for the ending of the aggravated isolation imposed by the Turkish state on the Kurdish leader.

HANOVER

Kurds and their political supporters led by Ronahi Women's Assembly also held a march in the German city of Hanover to demand freedom for Öcalan. Members of the Kurdish youth movement Ciwanên Azad also attended the march.

Dieter Dehm who attended the demonstration on behalf of the Left Party called for the removal of the PKK ban in Germany and re-initiation of a peace process in Turkey.

The march from the train station continued till the NAV-DEM office, with demonstrators often chanting "Bijî Serok Apo" [Long Live Leader Öcalan].
