Kurds rally in front of CoE: Don't be a party to this crime
On the 150th day of the Kurdish hunger strike in Strasbourg, a rally against the silence of the European institutions took place in front of the Council of Europe.
Kurdish umbrella organizations TJK-E (Kurdish Women’s Movement in Europe) and KCDK-E (Democratic Kurdish Society Congress Europe) organised a demonstration in front of the Council of Europe (CoE) and Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) to protest against the silence of the European institutions on the Kurdish massive hunger strike and death fast protests demanding the end of the isolation imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
Speakers called on Europe to put pressure on Turkey to take a step for a solution, stressing that the CoE and CPT were a party to the human rights violations in Turkey due to their failure to fulfil their missions.
