Speaking at a Ramadan event BDP co-chair Gültan Kýþanak greeted "the freedom of West Kurdistan. Prime Minister Erdoðan - she added - should never think of occupying West Kurdistan ".
Kýþanak underlined that an armed intervention in "West Kurdistan will be met with resistance by Kurds who will stand in front of the tanks".
Thousands people and a lot of organisations attended the people festival organised by Siirt municipality. BDP co-chair Gültan Kýþanak, mayor of Siirt Selim Sadak,mayor of Kurtalan Necat Yýlmaz, some BDP province and district organisations and thousands of people attended the festival.
Mayor of Siirt, Selim Sadak (who was stripped of his mayorship and then reinstated at least till the end of his mandate) said that "when the Turkish government put pressure on Kurds, Kurds get more organised and united. Nobody can prevent us to reach peace ". Sadak thanked the people and said that “I am back on my position because of people’s resistance”
BDP co-chair Gülten Kýþanak said that “every nation has the right to its identity, language, culture and have the right to live with them”. The BDP co-chair underlined that “people are being killed over and over: we have to provide brotherhood and peace and we have to fight against fascist and authoritarian mentality put forward by the Turkish government. The government - she added - only think about power, it is not interested in providing peace. Those who sacrifice their life for peace hold a special place for us".
The BDP co-chair also underlined that ”We have all the conditions to solve Kurdish issue but there
is no brave and determined government to act on it. We are repeating our quest for peace at every venue”.
