Labour, Democracy and Freedom Block election office attacked

The election office of Mersin Labor, Democracy and Freedom Block was attacked with iron rods and stones at about 01.30 last night. All glasses of the election office were broken during the attack and pictures and posters of Independent MP Candidate Ertugrul Kürkcü were torn into pieces. It is reported that police will launch an investigation through the stones used in the attack.

The election office of Mersin Labor, Democracy and Freedom Block in Mahmudiye Neighborhood of Mersin Akdeniz District was assaulted by unidentified person or persons at midnight hours. Breaking the office’s all glasses; the assaulters also tore the pictures and posters of Independent MP Candidate Ertugrul Kürkcü.

Coming to the crime scene upon the notification of the people in the neighborhood, police took the stones used in the attack and left the scene. It has been notified that the police will launch an investigation about the attack.

AN ORGANIZED ATTACK

Arriving at the crime scene once they learned the news, BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) Deputy Co-Chair Erkan Piskin, PM member Mehmet Doymaz, Provincial President Cihan Yýlmaz and BDP Akdeniz Mayor M. Fazýl Türk made examinations n the office.

Making a statement concerning the attack, Provincial President Cihan Yilmaz said the followings; “It has been sensed today in Mersin that the peace alliance of the Labor, Democracy and Freedom Block is not pleased by some circles. This is an organzed and planned attack. We would like to express that, whatever it may cost, we will not bend down before such attacks and the persons pursuing such goals will reach their goal as we will be walking with decisive steps towards building the social peace and the brotherhood of peoples. We condemn the executers of this attack and demand security forces to find the offenders and give them in judicial authorities.”
