Intense clashes continue in Raqqa’s Emîn, Nehda and Tekene neighborhoods. 11 gang members have reportedly been killed. Fighters continue to advance.
The Operation to Liberate Raqqa by the Syrian Democratic Forces continues on day 94.
Intense clashes continue between Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighters and ISIS gangs. Clashes are focused in the central Emin and Tekene neighborhoods and the Nehda neighborhood to the west of the city. Fighters deal heavy blows to the gangs and continue their advance.
Gangs in the Emin neighborhood attacked the SDF positions to break out of the siege. 11 gang members in the attack group have been killed.
Clashes continue in the city center and the western part of the city.
The Operation to Liberate Raqqa had launched on June 6 by the Syrian Democratic Forces. More than half of the city has come under SDF control since.
