25 years have passed since the international conspiracy launched against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan by international powers and regional countries on 9 October 1998. Lawyer Cemal Demir said that the Kurds and their friends should protest much more strongly on the anniversary of the conspiracy. He said that the solution to the Kurdish question is through dialogue and negotiation with Abdullah Öcalan.
'9 October is the milestone of the international conspiracy alliance'
Reminding that 9 October 1998 was the milestone of the international conspiracy alliance against the Kurds, Demir stated that since that date, regional and global powers have joined forces and wanted to erase the Kurds from the stage of history once again, in the person of Abdullah Öcalan. He added that the Kurdish People's Leader was handed over to the Turkish state and since then he hasn’t even been left a humane living space.
Demir said: "The main purpose of this NATO military-backed alliance was, of course, to deepen the war even further. What we have witnessed is that Mr. Abdullah Öcalan's efforts to resolve the Kurdish issue through peaceful and democratic means are met with a conspiracy."
'Abdullah Öcalan foiled the conspiracy'
Demir continued: "Although the international conspiracy was foiled by Öcalan, who responded to it with a different perspective and historical analysis, the search for a solution to the issue was in turn responded to with isolation. Abdullah Öcalan's first suggestion has always been peace and dialogue. He demonstrated that a solution would only be reached through mutual dialogue. He never saw the politics of violence or tension as a method. On the contrary, he saw this as a major obstacle to dialogue and the search for a solution. Kurds and their friends need to protest and express their objections much more strongly on the anniversary of this conspiracy. Because past experiences have shown that the solution to the Kurdish question can only be achieved through dialogue and negotiation with Abdullah Öcalan."
