Lawyer and HDP Istanbul provincial administrator Levent Pişkin has been taken into custody during a raid by special operations police on his house in Kurtuluş at 05:00 this morning. Police also confiscated some materials in Pişkin's house.

The operation against Pişkin came after the AKP media pointed him as a target due to his visit to the HDP's jailed Co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş in Edirne Type F Closed Prison last week. The reports claimed that Pişkin would share the details of the meeting to a German magazine to be used as propaganda in Germany and Europe.

Pişkin was detained on Bursa Public Prosecutor’s instruction and he is expected to be taken to Bursa.
