Lawyers from the Asrýn Law Bureau made a statement concerning the impediments they are experiencing in meeting their client, Abdullah Öcalan.

Explaining that his enforced isolation is inhuman, they said that Öcalan's contact with the outside world has been completely severed. They pointed out that the implementation of this isolation is politically motivated and does not contribute to peace or a democratic solution to the Kurdish issue.

The lawyers announced that they would take the case to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).
