The weekly group meeting of the HDP started with a video message by DTK Co-chair and HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Guven, who has been on a hunger strike for 97 days demanding an end to the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan.

Leyla Guven said the following in her message:

“Hello dear friends. I embrace each one of you with love and longing. We couldn’t really embrace even after my release. I really miss all of you. But now, as you are all aware, we are in the process of a very important resistance. Our resistance resonates more every day, and it disturbs those who ignore it. In this sense, your event yesterday was very meaningful. You really pushed the man. Now he can’t say he won’t let people do this or that. Because despite all the threats, you displayed the necessary resistance there. I send all of you my heartfelt kisses. I have faith that this resistance will prevail. There may be some who fall, but what is important is that the resistance achieves the ultimate goal. I believe in you and our people for that. We will prevail. I believe that we will all prevail in our efforts to this end, and I salute you with my love. We will prevail. Berxwadan Jiyan e Hevalno!”
