SDF fighters have liberated 4 villages in the third phase of the Operation Wrath of Euphrates. Locals turn back home after the clearance of mines laid by ISIS gangs.
Fighters of the YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are conducting mine sweeping works in the villages they cleanse of ISIS groups within the scope of the third phase of the Operation Wrath of Euphrates to liberate eastern Raqqa and encircle the city. Once these mines are cleared by SDF units, locals turn back to their villages.
The village of Birduxane was the first one to be liberated in the third phase of the Operation Wrath of Euphrates. SDF fighters have cleared the mines laid by the gangs across the village, and then enabled the return of locals.
Residents of the Birduxane village spoke to ANF and voiced their joy over the liberation of their village.
A resident by the name of Evdila said: "We believe SDF will lead us to Raqqa soon."
A youth from the village stated that: "When the gangs came to our village, the first thing they did was to make women wear burqa. They laid mines across the village two months ago with an aim to massacre the civilians."
SDF fighter Beşar Şawaka from Serêkaniye, who is partaking in the Operation Wrath of Euphrates, stated that they have liberated 4 villages in the third phase of the operation which was launched two days ago. Şawaka vowed that they will accomplish in their military campaign for the liberation of Raqqa and its people.
