Long March for Öcalan in Germany continues

Kurdish youth continue their long march in Germany to protest the İmralı isolation system imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, and demand his freedom.

Kurdish umbrella youth's movements Jinên Ciwanên Azad (Free Young Women) and Ciwanên Azad (Free Youths) started the traditional long march on Monday as a prelude to the 25th International Kurdish Culture Festival in Germany that will be held on September 16.

The youth’s movements organize the march from Dortmund to Cologne within the frame of the "Azad Bike" (Make Free) campaign under the motto "Smash colonialism with revolutionary revenge - Free the Leader".

Participants of the march reached the town of Hagen Monday evening covering 20 km during the day. After gathering at Hagen’s Democratic Kurdish Society Center Tuesday morning, the demonstrators started the second stage of their march to Wuppertal.

The marchers reached Wuppertal in the evening of the second day, and continued their route to Dusseldorf on the third day, covering a total of 30 km.

In Dusseldorf, the youth will join a rally for the Kurdish politicians jailed in Germany, where freedom will be demanded for all political prisoners and the attitude of the German state will be protested.
