Long march in Gothenburg completed

The two-day march protested the international conspiracy and isolation against Abdullah Öcalan.

A long march in the Swedish city of Gothenburg which had started on Saturday in order to denounce the international conspiracy and the isolation against Abdullah Ocalan, was concluded yesterday in a meeting.

The demonstrators, after covering 40 kilometers, arrived in the Brunnparken Sq. in Gothenburg city center. The marchers cheered slogans in support of Abdullah Ocalan, Leyla Guven, and demanded freedom and political status for the Kurdish people.

The co-chair of the Kurdish Democratic Society Center (NCDK) in Gothenburg, Abdullah Konya delivered a speech in the meeting, and strongly criticized the European Union and the Swedish government for their silence in face of the Turkish state’s attacks against the Kurdish people.

Konya noted that Leyla Guven was on the 103rd day of a hunger strike to protest the isolation of the Kurdish people’s leader, Abdullah Ocalan, and demanded that Ocalan’s isolation immediately be stopped and PKK be removed from the terror list.

During the two-day march, the demonstrators sang Kurdish marches and constantly chanted in support of Abdullah Ocalan.
