The date for Erdogan’s visit to Germany is still not determined. President Frank-Walter Steinmeier’s spokesperson said the invitation had been sent a long time ago, as the visit sparked discussions among political parties and in the press.

German daily newspaper Bild had announced that Erdogan was to have an official visit to Germany. It was stated that Erdogan would attend the meeting with a large state protocol in the visit planned for late September. Former Greens Chairperson Cem Ozdemir had spoken to German press and said, “Erdogan is not a normal head of state, he is a dictator, and he should be received as such.”
