Musab al Hisam, who was captured by ISIS and imprisoned for 4,5 months, has joined SDF ranks. Al Hisam is participating in Operation Wrath of Euphrates and is bringing ISIS cruelty to account.
We as ANF continue to follow the advance of Wrath of Euphrates fighters during the operation to besiege and liberate Raqqa. This time, we bring you the life story of SDF fighter Musab al Hisam from Raqqa.
Al Hisam is 29 years old and was born and raised in Raqqa. Due to poverty, al Hisam’s family migrated to Gire Spi when he was 12 years old, and returned to Raqqa when their financial situation improved. Al Hisam is married and has two children. He joined the peoples’ uprising in 2011, but as he puts it, became silent when the uprisings transformed into a civil war.
After the civil war begins in Syria, first gang groups such as FSA, Al Nusra and Ahrar al Sham occupy Raqqa. Al Hisam, his wife and their children leave Raqqa but are forced to return due to the death of Musab’s father and the need for care of Musad’s mother. Al Hisam lives in Raqqa and tries to leave the city when ISIS takes it over. But he gets captured and imprisoned by the gangs.
Mutab al Hisam gets heavily tortured by ISIS for 4,5 months. He finally manages to escape from ISIS and arrives at Gire Spi, which was liberated by YPG and YPJ fighters in June, 2015. After a while, he decides to join the SDF.
Al Hisam is currently a fighter at the Operation Wrath of Euphrates Room against fascist ISIS gangs in order to defend the land he grew up in.
Al Hisam noted that ISIS gangs are trying to stay in the areas they occupy, and said “We experienced intense clashes in the villages, hamlets and strategic hilltops that we liberated from ISIS gangs. We are advancing towards the fortress of cruelty, which is being shaken. We will liberate Raqqa and bring ISIS gangs to account for the pains that all Syrian peoples suffered First, we will avenge the women sold in Raqqa’s markets and the people beheaded by ISIS gangs.”
