Turkish police carried out raids on several houses in the southern province of Adana last night.

The operation targeted artists from the Mesopotamia Cultural Center (MKM) which was shut down with a statutory decree. All the houses were searched in detailed and the detainees were reportedly tortured by the police.

The detained artists were taken to the anti-terror branch of Adana provincial police department following medical check up at hospital.
