March for Öcalan in Athens on day 2

The activists will reach Athens tomorrow and stage a rally to mark October 10, Global Day of Action for the Freedom of Abdullah Öcalan.

Kurdish youth in Greece started a long march from Lavrio to Athens yesterday to condemn the October 9, 1998 plot against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and salute KCK’s campaign for freedom against isolation, fascism and occupation.

The march, led by the Revolutionary Youth Movement (Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger-TCŞ) and the Kurdistan Cultural Center, is to last for three days.

The activists covered 20 km yesterday before reaching the town of Marco Polo from where they have resumed the march early this morning.

Carrying posters of the Kurdish People's Leader, PKK and KCK flags and singing anthems, young people distributed leaflets regarding the international conspiracy and the occupation attacks of the Turkish state in Kurdistan territory.

The freedom of the Kurdish People's Leader is demanded during the march where slogans are frequently chanted condemning the conspiracy and isolation.
