Mardin resistance: Day 21
People in Mardin have been resisting for 21 days against the appointment of trustees to their municipality as well as Amed and Van.
In Mardin the people have been on the streets for 21 days.
HDP deputies Meral Danış Beştaş, Dersim Dağ, Necdet Ipekyüz, Hüda Kaya, Sıddık Taş, Ebru Günay, Batman Peace Mothers Assembly and Batman Peace Mothers and Batman Municipal co-mayors are joining the resistance action every day.
Speaking at a press conference held despite the police harassment, Batman co-mayor Mehmet Demir, said: "If people want to give the best lessons to the trustees they should fight against them. The trustees have robbed people and municipalities before, that's why were have to fight them."
After the press release, the people organised a 10-minute sit-in. The action ended with applauses and slogans.
