The voting for Turkey’s Presidential and 28th Term Parliamentary Elections on May 14 ended in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region on May 7.
There were 2 polling stations in Baghdad, 1 in Basra and 3 in Hewler (Erbil).
Between May 5 and 7, approximately 5,741 voters went to the polls.
While 415 out of 1775 registered voters voted in the capital Baghdad, 1290 out of 3,834 voters went to the polls in Hewler.
Only 74 out of 132 registered voters in Basra were reported to have voted.
While the electoral turnout in the 2018 elections in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region stood at 10.05 percent, it increased to 26.44 percent this year.
The voting launched at the Khabour and Üzümlü border gates on April 27 will continue until May 14, 17.00.
