Peoples’ Democratic Party (Halkların Demokratik Partisi - HDP) Co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş sent a message for May 1 Day of Unity, Solidarity and Struggle from the Edirne Type F prison he is held in.

Demirtaş’s message shared by the HDP Press Bureau is as follows: “One of the things that make humans human is undoubtedly the labor they put forth. At this rough point in history when attacks on labor and workers and usurpation of rights know no bounds, I respectfully salute all who courageously insist on continuing with the struggle of workers and who stand with them. I celebrate May Day for the workers of the world, and with my faith in the just, free and equal unity of our peoples in the future, I wish you all success in this tough but priceless path. With love and respect, Selahattin Demirtaş.”
