Mayors of Edremit and Özalp districts of Van were released following the KCK (Kurdish Communities Union) trial in Van on Friday. 13 Kurdish politicians, including Mayor of Van, Bekir Kaya, are tried in the scope of KCK Van case.

Van 4^th High Criminal Court ordered the release of Mayor of Edremit, Abdulkerim Sayan, and Mayor of Özalp, Murat Durmaz, and the postponement of the trial to 22 February on the grounds of the collection of all evidences and the re-hearing of the secret witness.
