Meeting against racism in Wels

132 different non-governmental organizations held a meeting against racism in Wels, Austria. Kurds attending the meeting drew attention to the isolation imposed on Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan and chemical weapons attacks.

132 different non-governmental organizations, including Dem Kurd, attended the joint meeting of the Anti-Fascists network held at Bildungshaus Schloss Puchberg in Wels, Upper Austria. The meeting was held to discuss the extreme right-wing political parties and organizations in the world, especially in Austria and Europe, and racism.

A stand was opened at the meeting with the slogan 'Freedom for Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan and all political prisoners, status to Kurdistan'. Brochures related to the 9 October Conspiracy were displayed at the stand. While commemorating all women revolutionaries in the persons of Nagihan Akarsel and Jina Amini, attention was drawn to the use of Turkish chemical weapons against Medya Defense Areas. At the event, signatures were collected for the PKK to be removed from the list of 'terrorist organizations'.

At the same time, books by the Kurdish leader were presented in their German translation to the participants.
