A conference was held in Livorno on the occasion of 10 December Human Rights Day. Livorno Mayor Luca Salvetti and Barbara Bonciani, European deputy Niccolo Rinaldi via video conference, Pisa University professor Giorgio Gallo, anthropologist and journalist Tiziana Ciavardini via video conference, Italy Amnesty International, Mezzaluna Rossa Kurdistan Italia (Heyva). Speakers pointed out that the Kurdish people were subjected to attacks and torture by the Turkish state, especially Erdogan, and it was emphasized that the war in Rojava was launched by using the explosion in Istanbul as an excuse. Speakers also said that the Turkish state constantly bombarded Rojava without making any distinction between civilians and soldiers, causing the death of hundreds of people, including children.
It was underlined that even the water and electricity networks that meet the basic needs of the people, especially the hospitals, were bombed. Emphasizing that the Turkish state, which uses chemical weapons against the guerrillas, committed crimes against humanity, the speeches also touched upon the uprisings that started in Iran after the murder of Jina Amini. The conference called for action to international law against the oppression of the Turkish state and the Iranian state.
