Meeting on isolation with Labour MP Williams

A meeting was held with Labour Party MP Paul Williams on the isolation against Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan and the hunger strikes.

The Freedom for Ocalan Campaign and the Kurdish Popular Assembly Britain Foreign Affairs Committee continue their efforts against the isolation.

Elif Sarican from the Freedom for Ocalan campaign met with Labour Party Stockton South MP Dr. Paul Williams in the parliament.

Sarican gave detailed information on the hunger strikes by thousands of prisoners and the conditions of the isolation imposed upon Ocalan.

Sarican also wrote a letter to Foreign Minister Jeremy Hunt to request that the issue be discussed by the government.

Elif Sarican invited Labour MP Williams to join a delegation planned to visit Kurdistan soon.

Williams said he has great interest in the struggle of the Kurdish people and that he will be involved in more active solidarity in the future.

Williams added that he is concerned for the conditions Ocalan and thousands of political prisoners live under and called for urgent steps taken by the authorities before any deaths occur.

Kurdish Popular Assembly Britain Co-chairs Ercan Akbal and Besime Basar said the Foreign Affairs Committee will continue to work actively.
