Memorial event for HPG guerrilla Baran Kaya in Münster
The fallen guerrilla fighter Baran Kaya was commemorated in Münster. He had joined the HPG from Germany and died in December during a Turkish air attack in southern Kurdistan.
A commemoration ceremony for Baran Kaya (Firat) took place in Münster. The HPG fighter died on December 4, 2019 in the Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan, northern Iraq during an air attack of the Turkish army. His family members and numerous other people participated in the event.
The family of Baran Kaya belongs to the Kurds from Central Anatolia and migrated to Germany in 1993. Baran Kaya was born in 1996, he was the youngest of four siblings. After finishing vocational school, he joined the Kurdish liberation movement in 2017.
