Memorial event in London pays tribute to May Martyrs

An event was held in London to commemorate the revolutionary martyrs who fell in May.

Following the call of Partisan and Class Theory, a mass commemoration event was held in front of Manor House Station to pay tribute to the martyrs who fell in the month of May.

The commemoration, which was also attended by the components of the People's United Revolutionary Movement (HBDH), started with a minute's silence for the martyrs of the revolution.

Activists displayed photos of the revolutionary leaders İbrahim Kaypakkaya, Haki Karer, The Four who set their bodies on fire in the Amed (Diyarbakir) prison, and Deniz Gezmiş.

While a joint statement was made on behalf of Partizan and Class Theory, representatives of HBDH, MLKP (Marxist-Leninist Communist Party) and KCDK-Bashur (South Kurdistan) delivered speeches.

The speakers emphasized that the AKP-MHP fascism would be defeated with the legacies of İbrahim, Haki, Mahir and Deniz.

“We once again commemorate all the revolutionary martyrs in the persons of Deniz Gezmiş and Hüseyin İnan who were the leaders of the Turkish revolutionary movement, Mahir Cayan, one of the architects of the revolutionary breakthrough in 1971, and Haki Karer, one of the leading cadres of the Kurdistan Freedom struggle,” said a speaker.

After the commemoration, the crowd marched to the Turnpike Lane Station.

The activists frequently chanted the slogans " Şehîd namirin" (Martyrs are immortal), "Jin, Jiyan, Azadi" (Woman, Life, Freedom) and "Kurdistan will be a graveyard for fascism".
