The 9 YAT members who fell as martyrs following a helicopter crash in South Kurdistan on 15 March were commemorated in the Swedish city of Helsinborg.  Sherwan Kobane's family and many patriots attended the memorial.

Şerwan Kobanê's uncle and aunt spoke on behalf of the family. Stating that Şerwan has participated in the resistance and freedom struggle since the beginning of the Rojava revolution, despite living in Europe at a young age, his uncle said: "Şerwan is not only our martyr. He is a martyr of the whole of Kurdistan. We are proud of him and we promise to follow in his footsteps."

Other speakers underlined that “the Kurdish people are going through a very difficult period. These martyrs have shown courage and self-sacrifice. They were able to sacrifice themselves on behalf of this people in order to lead the resistance against the Turkish invaders. We can only keep the memory of our martyrs alive by following in their footsteps."
