Memorial for martyrs Zilan and Mazlum in Limassol

A memorial was held for Zeynep Kınacı (Zilan) and HPG guerrilla Mazlum Tekdağ (Mazlum Jiyanda), in Limassol, Cyprus.

A large number of Kurds attended the memorial organized by the Cyprus Kurdish Women's Initiative at the Theofilos Kurdish Cultural Center.

Women's Initiative Spokesperson, Fatma Jirki, spoke about Zeynep Kınacı and the 3 Kurdish women murdered by Turkish strikes in Kobanê. Noting that Kurdish women gave life to a great revolution based on freedom and equality in the Middle East, Jirki said that the strength of Zilan defeated the male mentality of the fascist invaders.

Mazlum

After a video on Zeynep Kınacı and Mazlum Tekdağ (Mazlum Jiyanda), the commemoration touched upon the life of Mazlum Jiyanda.

Mazlum fell martyr in the Medya Defense Areas on 1 October 2019, Kurdish politician Lezgin Serhat recalled.

Emphasizing that the life of Mazlum Tekdağ summarizes the last 35-year of Kurdistan’s freedom struggle, Serhat added: “When Mazlum was at a very young age, he never gave up to his revolutionary attitude. He rejected the classic ‘tie’ politics and has been an important guide for the young people.
