Military meeting of Syria, Iraq and Iran

Iranian Chief of Staff Mohammed Bageri said the presence of US in Syria, and the presence of foreign forces in Idlib was illegal.

Syrian, Iranian and Iraqi Chiefs of Staff are rumored to hold a meeting in Damascus to discuss “possibilities to fight terrorism”.

The pro-Damascus regime Al Watan newspaper wrote that a military meeting will be held with the 3 countries, but didn’t give details on the time or location.

Iran has stood by the Damascus regime from the beginning, and accused the US of being a source of instability. The US accuses Iran of the same.

Iranian Chief of Staff Mohammed Bageri issued a statement on Sunday and said the US presence in Syria is illegal.

According to the Persian news agency, Bageri said: “Forces present in Syria outside a coordination with the Syrian government will leave, sooner or later.”

Bageri said the presence of foreign forces in Idlib is also illegal. There are Turkish forces in the area.
