Villages of Kerwas, Zengi and Mışırf in Diyarbakır's Lice district have been raided by a number of Turkish soldiers early on Thursday morning.

The raid operation which targeted the villages in the region of Taşınönü (Peşgewer) was carried out with many panzer and scorpion-type armored military vehicles.

Some people were taken into custody in the operation which is reported to be still continuing.

According to local sources, areas surrounding some houses are being dug by heavy construction equipments. Soldiers have been warning the local people not to leave their houses and people living in surrounding villages have reportedly taken their way to the villages raided by the military.

Local sources have also reported that unmanned aerial vehicles have flown over the rural area between the villages of Yolçatı and Dibek in early morning hours.
