Turkish army has launched an expansive air-supported military operation in Diyarbakır's Lice district early Thursday.

A number of helicopters are reported to be bombing the operation area in the rural areas near the villages of Yalaza (Kelwas), Çağbaş (Cıdezuz) and Dibek in the region of Pişê Kevir.

Executives and members of Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Lice district organization have marched to the operation area. The crowd in the area is said to be prevented by soldiers.

BDP Diyarbakır provincial organization will also organize a march to the operation area today.

On the other hand, the Turkish military also carried out a bombardment in in the guerilla-controlled Kandil region in Media Defense Areas late Wednesday. The operation was supported by a number of warplanes.
