A mine exploded in Hemrîn region south of Kirkuk, Southern Kurdistan Wednesday morning.

According to reports, the mine explosion near Lake Hemrîn in the town of Gulala in Diyala killed a peshmerga by the name of Îsmaîl Hemê Omer from Qeladizê.

Mount Hemrîn within the boundaries of the Kirkuk province is witnessing an activity of ISIS gangs for a while now.

On July 24, a mine explosion hit a peshmerga vehicle in the village of Tenire, leaving 4 peshmergas wounded.
