A 14-year-old child named Ali Sarıdağ was grazing cattle in the rural areas of the Akdoğan (Arade) village in Mardin’s Kızıltepe district when he found a mine which then exploded and left him seriously wounded.
Following the incident which occurred this morning, Sarıdağ was taken to Kızıltepe Public Hospital. Due to his life-threatening condition, the boy was referred to the Medical Faculty Hospital in Antep province.
The boy’s elder brother Faruk Sarıdağ stated that Ali had unwittingly entered a mined terrain.
The brother said that Ali was still in a life-threatening situation, adding that his treatment will continue in Antep.
