Mithat Sancar becomes a member of the Imralı Delegation

Mithat Sancar, Member of Parliament for Urfa (Riha) from the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party), will take part in the Imralı delegation, replacing Sırrı Süreyya Önder, a DEM Party Imralı delegation member who recently passed away.
Mithat Sancar was born in Mardin’s Nusaybin district in 1963 and has been an HDP member of parliament since June 2015. From February 2020 to August 2023, he served as co-chair of the HDP alongside Pervin Buldan.
Sancar is a professor of public law, constitutional law, and international law, as well as a columnist and translator. The politician lived in Germany for many years and has translated works by German philosopher and sociologist Jürgen Habermas into Turkish, among other things.
