The families of the hunger strikers demanding the end of isolation against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan came together in Esenyurt Square in Istanbul and held a protest action. The families organised a sit-in while the police pushed them to end the action. Families stood firm and continued their protest for a time.
On Wednesday the families had a sit-in in the same square but were attacked by police who also took six people into custody. The six were released after giving statements to the police.
