A mineworker died as a result of landslip in a mining area worked out by private sector in the district of western province of Manisa.

The 35 years-old worker, Harun Tufan,lost his life at Soma State Hospital on Tuesday.

Three workers of the same coal mine died as a result of a fire that broke out in the mining area last year.

According to the figures by Dev Maden-Sen, 16 mineworkers died and 99 others were injured in 14 separate 'work accidents' in January alone.
