EP President Martin Schulz’s successor has been determined. The European Parliament Liberal Group Chairperson Guy Verhostadt waived his candidacy at the last minute.

Liberals and the center right came together in an alliance that may change the political balance. With the liberals supporting the European People’s Party, Antonio Tanjani’s presidency for the European Parliament is now certain.
