New raids by the German police against Kurds in Hannover

Police raided the homes of 7 Kurdish citizens in the German city of Hannover. It was noted that the raids coincided with the activities planned for the 25th anniversary of the murder of Kurdish youth Halim Dener by the German police.

Making it clear that the criminalization of the Kurdish liberation struggle should continue, the German police carried out raids on several Kurdish houses in Hanover using excuses for the raids.

In Hannover, several houses were raided by police targeting members of Kurdish people's cultural and political organization. This time the targets were seven members of the Hannover People's Assembly.

Among the houses searched were that were artist Ciwan Çewlik, co-chairman of the Hannover People's Assembly, Emin Seydo, and Kurdish politician Evdila Efe, were living.

During the simultaneous raids, the police confiscated many private items. Kurdish politician Evdila Efe, who told ANF about the raids, said: "It is no coincidence that the raids came at the time of the preparation for the commemoration of Halim Dener, on the 25th anniversary of his murder by German police."

Efe added: “The German police are consciously targeting the legitimate and legal organization of the Kurdish people. If Kurds cannot be organized in Germany, one of the most developed countries of the west, like other peoples, this will go down in history as the disgrace of German democracy.”

Stating that commemorating those who lost their lives in the struggle against ISIS mercenaries supported by the whole world, Efe said: "Will the Kurds not commemorate their martyrs or celebrate their national holidays? Almost like the Turkish state, German police have become afraid of Kurdish weddings ”.
