The Kurdish New Year, Newroz, is being celebrated in Medya Defence Zones by freedom guerrillas as well.

The Newroz celebration in Medya Defence Zones has already started with the participation of members of the Central Command of People’s Defence Forces, Amed Malazgirt, Feride Alkan, the HPG commanders Eyrıhan Jinda, Özgür Gabar, Çiya Muhabad, Amed Dalaho, Devrim Amed as well as many guerrillas.

Member of the Central Command of the People’s Defence Forces (HPG) Amed Malazgirt made a short speech at the celebration starting by commemorating Mazlum, Berivan, Ronahi and all the martyrs of the liberation struggle.

“Newroz means the revival of the people, whose existence had long been denied, from their own ashes” said Malazgirt celebrating the Newroz of all the Kurdish people, their friends and primarily of the Kurdish Leader Apo and the political prisoners.

Following the speech the guerrillas have celebrated each other’s Newroz and then held a meeting with Amed Malazgirt on the meaning of the Newroz for the Kurdish people.

After the meeting, the celebration continued with the cultural program prepared by the guerrillas, while they frequently chanted the slogans “Long Live Leader Apo”, “Long Live Newroz” and “Martyrs are immortal”.
