Nine people remanded in custody in Antep

Nine of the 29 people detained in the operations carried out by the Turkish police on 14 July and targeting HDP, BDP and SKYP were remanded in custody.

The AKP-MHP regime targeted the former and new executives and members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) and the Socialist Re-Foundation Party (SYPP).

During the house raids, 29 people, including HDP Provincial co-chair Musa Aydın, were detained.

Those who appeared in court were: HDP Provincial co-chair Aydın, Şehitkamil Province co-chair Ibrahim Dağ, Islahiye Province co-chair Yusuf Iyem, provincial executives Hasan Saran and Abdullah Acar, former provincial co-chair Atiye Okay, former provincial director Yeliz Yılmaz and DBP former provincial co-chair Habibe Tişkaya provincial executive Sevinç Selçuk, Hurşit Besle, Abdulmutalip Kılıç and Ömer Sungur, Enver Özmen and lawyer Adnan Erol.

14 people were accused of being member of an illegal organization.

HDP Provincial Co-chair Musa Aydın, Adnan Erol, Hurşit Besle, Abdullah Acar, Enver Özman, Sevinç Selçuk, Ömer Sungur, Ibrahim Dağ and Hasan Saran were arrested.

Other 5 people were released on condition of house arrest and judicial control.

Other detainees are expected to be transferred to the courthouse this Friday. The people remanded in custody are as follows: HDP Antep Provincial co-chair Songül Koçdağ, Şahinbey Provincial co-chair Bahri Yarış, Ali Şimşek, Birgül Yıldırım, Recai Yılmaz, SYKP Antep Provincial co-chair Mehmet Aşkar, Remziye Erdem, Songül Akman, Remziye Kuş, Ayfer Doğan, Necip Ateş, Cüneyt Kaya, Salih Birişik, Mustafa Can and Bedirhan Akdoğan.
